I recently shopped a bunch of cheap micro SD Silicon Power Elite 32GB cards. I need them for my Raspberry Pi 4 Kubernetes cluster. I was worried about their speed. So, I benchmarked them alongside my current (micro) SD cards and I was amazed by the performance of these cheap-a** cards.

The cards that I recently bought is the green-ish one on the far right. The price was €7,84 including taxes (BTW in NL) as of 30 December 2020. Here are the results:

As you see the Silicon Power 32GB performs best in my current set of cards. It is identified as Silicon Power (FBE-SU032GBSTHBU1V1GEU) on amazon.

Although many of my cards date way back, I was pretty disappointed in my Samsung EVO XC 64GB card. I bought it together with my Mavic Pro Drone in HongKong 3 or so years ago. I now realise why my recording during flights kept freezing lately.
In a day or two, my Raspberry Pi 4s will be delivered. I can’t wait to get my hands dirty on them.
